This FIRST release is a rare and collectable whisky that captures the early spirit of Torabhaig and we are proud to have these bottles available to you through our ongoing island collaborations. 

The 2017 release marked the inaugural chapter in the Torabhaig ‘Legacy Series’, showcasing the very first expression of Torabhaig distillery’s signature style. This heavily peated single malt is crafted from Concerto malted barley and matured in first-fill Bourbon barrels. It introduces a well-tempered peat profile, with notes of smoke, maritime brine, and a subtle sweetness that reflects the rugged beauty of the Isle of Skye. 

Tasting Notes:

The Torabhaig Legacy Series 2017 begins with gentle peat smoke that intertwines with citrus zest and the freshness of sliced apples and pears. Subtle hints of vanilla and smouldering embers add a soft sweetness and warmth. On the palate, the smokiness intensifies, revealing flavours of charred wood and sweet malt, balanced by black pepper and cinnamon spice. 

The creamy vanilla undertone provides depth, while the finish is long and warming, with lingering peat smoke, a touch of sweetness, and a hint of briny sea air, creating a beautifully balanced and memorable conclusion.
